Published DM Resources

There are a bunch of great disciple making resources on the market. Below is a list of a few I have used in the past. Depending on your context, it may be easier to use published material. Here are some classics:

Navigator booklets have been used by millions since the 1970’s:

  • Growing in Christ: A 13 week course for New and Growing Christians
  • Design for Discipleship (DFD): A comprehensive 7 booklet series designed for an individual or small group study
  • Discipleship Essentials: A Guide to Building Your Life in Christ, by Greg Ogden, a 24 week discipleship resource where each week includes a core truth, memory verse, inductive Bible study and a reading.

There are many more. I use the following as evaluation criteria:

  1. Study of the actual Biblical text is central, not the words of the author.
  2. Absolute clarity on the Gospel, Faith alone in Christ alone.
  3. Promotes sound doctrine, especially in the study of the ministries of the Holy Spirit.
  4. Immediately instills an outreach mindset, the telling of “My Story” to others.
  5. The material is easily reproducible, once I go through this, I can lead others through.
